What you’ll Learn in This Article
You’ve discovered your toxic tits are a problem, you’ve scheduled your explant and maybe you’ve explanted already….now what? Often, we see the misconception that breast implants are the cause of all our health problems and that explanting alone is going to miraculously solve all these problems. But this is TOTALLY not the case. What kinds of problems need to be addressed post-explant and when is a good idea to start the journey?
Well first of all, our approach is to help women prepare for their explant surgery 3-4 months before their explant date. And even before that, many women come to us wanting to clean up more (and definitely should) such as oral infections, amalgam fillings, and environmental toxicity that even beyond removing their implants would still perpetuate the health issues that they’re experiencing now. Nowadays, women are put on a wait list to explant for one year out from the time they’re motivated to remove them, so in the meantime, we help them clean their lives up in these other areas so they can recover and heal as fast as possible post explant.
If you’re wondering if it’s a good time to start working with us and what things would be best and ideal for YOU to prepare for explant and healing post you can always set up a time HERE to see if you’re a good fit now for our program or if starting in the future is best.
The ideal scenario, assuming just explant, is to prepare the body 2-3 months ahead of time, run the proper labs (far beyond blood – we use blood, urine, stool, hair and more), and have a protocol prepared so that 1 month post explant, once your body is beyond the point of recovering from the stress of surgery, you can dive right into it because you know exactly what to do for your healing journey, customized exactly to YOU. A solid plan takes 1-2 years of consistent and disciplined effort with detox herbs, healing foods and patience to bring you back to baseline and recover from the residue implants left behind. Anyone who tells you otherwise, is clueless on exactly how breast implant illness works inside the body at the deepest level and I would highly advise looking elsewhere for support.
Here’s what NOT to do
As we in the functional health practitioner side of the industry have observed, breast Implants create a kind of “mystery illness” that tends to mimic many other diseases, but not reveal obvious markers of dysfunction on blood tests. Which is confusing for so many women who seek help from physicians not educated on the dangers, leaving them feeling frustrated, skeptical and downright crazy. The majority of surgeons do not recall or know that autoimmunity and many other diseases, and symptoms are listed on the FDA fact sheets for these devices. As such, women find themselves in functional medicine doctors offices being treated alternatively, but still aren’t either removing the root cause (the implants) or are working on still surface level protocols that don’t work to treat ALL of the damage caused by the implants. This is where we see so many women who have spend tens of thousands of $ on fancy blood tests that don’t dive deep enough into the gut, immune system, hormones, brain health, metabolic function and more.
They’ve also spent several hundreds of dollars per month on supplements that aren’t potent enough to detox and heal most effective for them. There is a shortage of health practitioners skilled in this area, who:
A.) Have been there and gone through the arduous detox, recovery and emotional roller coaster of explant
B.) Are well versed on the advanced labs necessary to explore the damage done deeply in the tissues that are urgently revealing themselves and need comprehensive protocols in the perfect order for each woman
C.) Have a solid foundational understanding of how to cleanse heavy metals at a pace the client is able to withstand. There are TOO many women who have come to us having been recommended ‘heavy metal chelation’ which is a terrible idea for post explant, since the majority of women have weak immune systems, poor metabolic function and depleted hormonal production. For most, this would further the healing crisis and put her body into deeper stress.
As you can imagine, the body endures a natural detox process post explant, but there’s much more to it that EVERY woman needs to embark upon to bring her body back to balance. Therefore, understanding ‘safe’ heavy metal chelation, detox, methylation pathways and epigenetic challenges can make or break her path to healing. This is why we work with every woman individually to help her pace out her progress, rather than forcing templates on everyone.
Here’s What TO Do
With chronic illness related to breast implants, we’re dealing with T.I.T.S.
Toxicity, Infections, Trauma , and Shame… all of these need to be addressed simultaneously in order for true and lasting healing to occur.
TOXICITY: Breast implants (regardless of silicone or saline) bring a very complex layer of toxicity into the picture.
Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Cyclohexanone, Acetone, Polyvinyl Chloride, Toluene, Dichloromethane, Ethyl Acetate, Silicone, Sodium Fluoride, Formaldehyde, Phenol, Benzene, Lacquer Thinner, Epoxy Resin, Metal Cleaning Acid, Heavy metals such as aluminum, tin, lead, and platinum…and the list goes on. These are all neurotoxins and/or carcinogens that don’t just miraculously leave the body once a woman explants. They are stored deep in her lymph tissues and organs, and need extra support to extract from the body, as well as to ensure her eliminatory pathways are all open and high functioning. Specifically: kidneys, colon, lungs, skin, etc..that is to say she’s urinating healthily every 3-4 hours, pooping 1-3 times per day shaped like a banana, breathing deeply and calmly as well as sweating daily, using certain types of detox methods and exercise movements suitable for her and her lifestyle. Otherwise the toxins will remain deeply stored, and cause more problems down the road, which is what we hear SO commonly. “I removed my implants, but I still have health issues a year later”.
Not only are we dealing with toxicity from breast implants, but we also have to consider other sources that are also adding to our toxic bucket and making it overflow: amalgams, other implantable devices, personal care products, cleaning products, mold, stealth pathogens, off-gassing from furniture, paint, carpeting, building materials, etc. We need to focus on reducing toxic exposures and accomplishing true detoxification of the body. The RIGHT way to detox after explant (TCD): We use Dr pompa’s true cellular detox to do that because it focuses on taking the right steps to really prepare the body for detox (open up detox pathways), using true binders (not things like chlorella, cilantro and spirulina), but true binders, and supporting detox pathways throughout the process. This is what both Sarah and Myself used and are still using and what has helped a lot of women we have supported post-explant.
INFECTIONS: Going on a bug-killing spree is NOT the answer. What IS is an approach to address candida, parasites, and dysbiosis the right way without doing more harm than good. As you’ve read in our other articles, a huge Myth we commonly see in women with a history of Breast Implant Illness or just humans in general, is that just doing a Candida or Parasite Cleanse is the answer when in reality…the question is WHY did the body recruit them in the first place? Usually it’s to create a buffer between a more dangerous toxin offender such as heavy metals. Parasites for example carry multiple times their weight in heavy metals so if you just kill these bugs, their body will explode and like a pinata, metals fly out on the loose, leaving them in a more dangerous state, subject to travel to other sensitive places in your body such as the brain. Hence, doing a parasite cleanse alongside a metal detox is PARAMOUNT to not drive women deeper into disease and disorder. Same for Candida, it’s a buffer protective mechanism for something else in the gut’s biofilm. There’s much to understand about this ecosystem that is our microbiome and we are just now starting to understand the role of various species of bugs in the gut, so for now…this is the best approach to healing is to ask the question: Why is this bug here, How can I remove the root and what good stuff (probiotics and prebiotics) can I replace it with and when so that I can fix my gut for good? SIBO, SIFO, leaky gut and all things considered in the perfect order. Yep…its super tricky, but don’t worry…we’ve got you! This is where lab testing comes in handy and why JUST DETOX’ing is often not enough to completely heal. Because just detox’ing without considering the status of your gut, ignores a big part of the picture.
TRAUMA: How Trauma impacts healing could be the missing puzzle piece that stall so many women’s journey’s to recover. What I’m referring to here is the unanimously overlooked mental/emotional/spiritual element of healing, and how the Biology of our beliefs impacts our ability to heal. Put simply, “If you’re unwilling to drop your sick story, be prepared to keep your symptom stash”. We see a lot of women owning symptoms of Breast Implant Illness and emesh themselves so deeply into the identity of it that even after their implants are gone, they’re still suffering with the same symptoms because they’ve accepted them as their new reality.
SHAME: Did you know that 96% of women don’t think they’re beautiful? WTF? What are we ashamed of? Where did we first learn this? What areas of our lives are we overcompensating for this? And what is it costing us to live in: insecurity, low self worth and the notion of “not enough”. Shame depletes our energy, our confidence and our financial accounts that NO amount of bio identical hormones will resolve when a HUGE root cause of ‘adrenal fatigue’, thyroid disease or any hormone imbalance is living in this fight or flight story, aka ‘stress’. We see women removing their implants but still spending a $hit ton of money on repeated ‘natural’ surgeries, multiple fat transfers, Botox, Fillers and other ‘anti aging’ procedures that are causing more health issues, beyond removing their implants. This is an ‘I’m not worthy’ problem not an ‘ImPlant’ problem.
The question that is almost never possible to answer is:
Which came first? The shame? The brain body connection and HPA/HPT axis impairments? The Food & Chemical sensitivities? The toxicity issues? We ALL know breast implants and other implanted devices cause the body to react in a stressful fashion, but because we are so surrounded with toxins and stress today, it’s hard to say if a woman was already challenged with impending health issues prior to implanting due to a poor diet, mindset, genetics and lifestyle and the implants made it worse OR the implants are the MAIN source of stress. Regardless…
Women who are struggle with self sabotage and stinkin thinkin’ we work with present with:
…and we observe and help to eliminate the physical manifestations of these such as:
As you have learned, when we consider ALL of these things at once, a woman can and usually does feel a TON better within a few months of working with us. When she addresses them individually, without doing so all at once simultaneously, she leaves herself at risk for only getting a little better, or feeling worse.
You CAN do JUST the detox Part (the T in our T.I.T.S. approach) but the majority of women we work with get THE best results when we look at everything, under a microscope (literally) so no stone is left unturned in her healing journey.
